All Ages and Abilities Bike Network

Pasadena’s bike network should work for everyone! I want to see a connected network of all ages and abilities bike routes in Pasadena. This should include Greenways on slow streets with speeds under 20 MPH and protected bike lanes on faster streets. All bike routes should follow state and federal guidelines for riders of all ages and abilities, as described in the Community Bike Plan.
All Ages and Abilities guidelines make biking comfortable for more people.
Most people need safe routes to make biking feel comfortable
Safe bike routes reduce collisions for everyone, including people walking and driving
Everyone benefits when we support diverse transportation options
It only takes a few extra feet of space to add protection to a bike lane.

A connected network makes more trips possible.
The current bike network includes unsafe routes and gaps
Transportation requires a connected network of safe routes
Pasadena should improve safety on existing bike routes and fill in the gaps.
Pasadena's current bike network has gaps and unsafe bike lanes marked only by paint. These gaps make transportation by bike uncomfortable for most people.
Improving existing routes and filling the gaps creates a bike network for moving around Pasadena and to connect with neighboring cities.
