Walking Tour of the Grace Hill Neighborhood #1

Join neighborhood resident and environmental planner Tom Priestley, Ph.D. for a walking tour that explores the history of the Grace Hill neighborhood. This neighborhood lies just west of Fair Oaks Avenue at Pasadena’s southern edge and is built on a small hill that was the site of a grand estate from 1891 until it was sold and subdivided in the 1920’s. The neighborhood that resulted from the subdivision has a distinctive physical character that sets it apart from other areas of Pasadena. Those on the walk will learn about the neighborhood’s evolution over time and will see vestiges of the area’s past that remain.

This tour will cover a distance of about two miles and will take approximately an hour and a half. The walk will include stairs and some moderately steep inclines. There are no public restrooms on the route or in the nearby area.

We recommend wearing comfortable walking shoes, sunblock, a hat, and bring water.

Please register/RSVP so we know how many attendees to expect. Start location will be sent after you register/RSVP.

This event is part of Pasadena Walktober 2022, made possible by the City of Pasadena Department of Transportation.
